A Slightly Better Than Typical Dinner

How do I eat? With my mouth, of course. Oh, like, am I eating well? Like, what am I eating here these days? My garden's flourishing right now, so food is plentiful actually. The only real hiccup in my diet is a lack of meat. Let me tell you about a meal I made the other night that was just slightly better than typical.

First I uprooted two carrots. Then I picked green leaves: six swiss chard, one chinese cabbage, and a number of small ones from a wild plant called 'thepe' in Sesotho. I took one tomato from one of my tomato plants, then I walked over and bought an onion and three eggs from my neighbor.

Time to cook. Chopped up and boiled all the greens along with the onion. I grated the carrots and mixed mayonnaise in with it. I scrambled my eggs and dished everything onto a plate alongside the brown rice I had left over from the night before. Finally, I diced my tomato and sprinkled the bits on top.

Delicious, I must say, and probably pretty healthy. Certainly very cheap. The meal cost me less than four maloti, that's much less than a dollar.
