I learn something every time I speak with him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You have probably learned something from him too, if you&#8217;ve seen these posts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gregalder.com\/yardposts\/interview-with-john-schoustra\/\">&#8220;Interview with John Schoustra&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gregalder.com\/yardposts\/fires-farms-and-being-neighbors\/\">&#8220;Fires, farms, and being neighbors&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gregalder.com\/yardposts\/a-tour-of-john-schoustras-innovative-organic-low-input-high-density-avocado-grove\/\">&#8220;A tour of John Schoustra&#8217;s innovative, organic, low-input, high-density avocado grove&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to his home farm, John also manages the avocados and other fruit trees at Apricot Lane Farms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is Apricot Lane Farms?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Located in Moorpark, Ventura County, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apricotlanefarms.com\/\">Apricot Lane Farms<\/a> is over 200 acres of diverse plantings of vegetables and fruit trees, plus pasture and livestock. They do on-farm composting. They genuinely care for their dirt, the wildlife on and surrounding their land, and the quality and cleanliness of food they grow. I think of Apricot Lane as what my own homestead might be &#8212; if greatly magnified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The farm was also the subject of the movie <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apricotlanefarms.com\/biggest-little-farm\/\">&#8220;The Biggest Little Farm.&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>John and I will provide you with the essentials, but we&#8217;ll also be more than happy to dig deep into details, in order to help you grow the best avocados in the world in your own yard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hope to meet you at the workshop.
