No freezing, especially when young<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2. As much heat as possible<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3. As much sun as possible<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4. Protect from cold ocean breeze<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">5. Don&#8217;t let the tree fruit when it&#8217;s young<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">6. It&#8217;s better to grow a seedling if you&#8217;re able to graft<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">7. Water young trees twice a week if soil is hard<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">8. Better to use organic (vs. chemical) fertilizers when trees are young<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">9. Wood-chip mulches help<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">10. Water deeply, especially if soil is deep<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;ll visit Earle again in a few months to talk about varieties, grafting, harvesting, and more.
