Walk around with me as Jacques points out what is ripe to eat in his garden full of treats in April. Maybe you would like to be able to snack on these in your yard.
And of course, we take a few detours along the way: What companions to plant around a new fruit tree? How does Jacques fertilize a new fruit tree?
Other months in Jacques’ garden: January, February, March.

I put a Pakistan Mulberry tree many years ago and that thing grows like crazy, have to extremely prune it annually as it is on the side property line with the neighbor, also have a weeping mulberry that has grown very slowly but fruits every year. The Pakistan gives fruit every year (right around May/June) even with extreme pruning, but the window is short and also from green to ripe fruit is very short and many of the fruit land on the ground for the critters. I’m wondering if the “Everbearing” Mulberry tree gives fruit throughout the year as it implies, if so, what is the name of that “Everbearing” mulberry tree? I would like to get one as having berries year round is appealing 🙂 Thank you, On a hillside in Whittier, James D
Nice!, I also have an everbearing dwarf mulberry tree (that’s actually the name it was sold by), I wanted to grow it as a bush/shrub, but it wants to grow tall and skinny, and only up where the sun is (not branching or leaving well in partial sun, lower down) I also have fruit now, it’s the second year, maybe 1/10 the size of Jacques. I’m guessing it’s like the everbearing strawberries, as long as it’s warm enough and sunny, but still observing.
I’m also curious to see what Jacques cherry trees look like this year, for some reason, my craigs crimson only put out 1/2 the leaves. Kind of strange, they look healthy, but only 1/2 as many as there should be, and slow, like a month or more behind.
Hi Jeff,
I’ll make sure we visit Jacques’ cherry trees in May. His cherries have an interesting story this year. Show you soon.
Where can one find an Everbearing Dwarf Mulberry locally?
